A wild flower tells about itself…
Una flor silvestre habla acerca de ella misma…
The springtime and the summer’s arrival changed the colors of the landscape in the Teton Valley. First, it was all brown with green spots. After that, the field turned green with yellow spots. Next, everything changed again. The last picture looks like a “pastel” of a famous painter with a mix of yellow and green colors and small brown spots.
La primavera y la llegada del verano cambiaron los colores del paisaje en el Valle Tetón. Primero, fue todo marrón con manchones de verde. Después, el campo se tornó verde con manchones de amarillo. A continuación todo cambió de nuevo. La nueva fotografía luce como un “pastel” de un pintor famoso con una mezcla de colores amarillos y verdes y pequeñas manchas marrones.
Who is the protagonist? Its name is dandelion, a wild plant with yellow flowers and notched leaves that bloom in the spring. It has a high reproductive potential. It has the ability to reproduce itself in large numbers.
¿Quién es el protagonista? Su nombre es diente de león, una planta silvestre con flores amarillas y hojas con muescas que florece en primavera. Tiene alto potencial reproductivo. Tiene la habilidad de reproducirse a si mismo en grandes cantidades.
Normally, a dandelion plant has 3, 4 or more flowers with a lot of seeds. It has the potential for producing several hundreds new dandelion plants. This is the reason that all is yellow and green during the warm days in the valley.
Normalmente, un diente de león tiene 3, 4 o más flores con muchas semillas. Tiene el potencial de producir varios cientos de nuevas plantas dientes de león. Esta es la razón por la cual todo es amarillo y verde durante los cálidos días del valle.
Now, dandelion feels proud… It says “Nobody care for a wild yellow plant, all the people look the red roses. Who will give a dandelion to his lover? This is truth, but the roses cannot live without lovers and romantics. Nobody gives me water. The people and dogs walk on me… Nobody caresses my petals, nobody touches my leaves, nobody turns his/her eyes to my yellow corolla, but everybody lives with me, with my yellow and green because I grow faster next the rough and hard border of stones. In the springtime I am the winner. ”
Ahora, diente de león se siente orgulloso… Él dice: “- Nadie se interesa por una planta silvestre amarilla, todos miran las rosas rojas. ¿Quién le va a dar a su amante un diente de león? Eso es verdad, pero las rosas no viven sin amantes y románticos. Nadie me da agua. La gente y los perros me pisan… Nadie acaricia mis pétalos, nadie toca mis hojas, nadie torna sus ojos hacia mi corola amarilla, pero todos viven conmigo, con mi amarillo y mi verde porque yo crezco muy rápido entre el áspero y duro borde de las piedras. Durante la primavera yo soy el ganador.”
The dandelion is different from other flowers. It has the capacity to close its petals during the night and sleep relaxed for the next sunny day. And during the winter, it remains hidden maybe in between two stones and under the white cover of snow waiting better times to return to the light of the sun. Nobody will plant dandelions in the arrival of spring. It will grow again for itself with high concentration in the corner of the patio of the houses, or the road, with the same pride, with the same yellow flowers.
Diente de léon es diferente de otras flores. Tiene la capacidad de cerrar sus pétalos durante la noche y dormir relajado para la siguiente día con sol. Y durante el invierno, permanece escondido tal vez entre dos piedras o debajo de la cubierta blanca de nieve esperando tiempos mejores para retornar a la luz del sol. Nadie plantará dientes de león al arribo de la primavera. Nuevamente crecerá por si mismo en alta concentración, en el borde del patio de las casas, o del camino, con el mismo orgullo, con las mismas flores amarillas.
