NEWS FROM A BILINGUAL VIEW

From Alaska, several newspapers talk about the Kivalina’s tragedy, an island that is losing ground due to the global warning. The water erosion washed away two-thirds of the island.

Kivalina is between the Chukchi Sea and the Kivalina River. According to the census of 2000, it had 377 inhabitants.

Desde Alaska, algunos periódicos hablan de la tragedia de Kivalina, una isla que está perdiendo tierra debido al recalentamiento del planeta. La erosión del agua se ha llevado dos terceras partes de la isla.

Kivalina está ubicada entre el Mar de Chukchi y el Río Kivalina. De acuerdo con el censo del 2000, tenía 377 habitantes.
