On Monday, August 2, Pakistan encountered the worst flooding in 80 years killing over 1,100 people and displaced more than 2 million Pakistanis from their homes.

On Tuesday, August 3, BP started the “kill” process of the oil well that produced the Gulf of Mexico’s spill more than 100 days ago.

During the week, Research In Motion introduced a new smart-phone together with AT&T. It is the BlackBerry Torch, the first device from the Canadian manufacturer running the BlackBerry 6 operating system.
